Pictures from the Weekend

It was a long week full of illness for all four of us, but by Sunday we were able to venture out to Shoreline.

 This was the first time that Ella and daddy tried the kayak. Ella tried paddling at first, but then crawled into daddy's lap for the rest of the ride.

She's been so sick the past 10 days, but she's finally improving now and thankfully, starting to sleep through the night again.

Emma is 6 Months Old!

 I can't believe Emma is already half a year old! She's sitting really well now and trying new foods like banana and peas. She's still my "smiley girl" and "sunshine baby", but has been a little cranky due to teething this past week. We don't see any teeth coming through the gums yet, but then Ella didn't get her first tooth until 8 months.

Emma's First Ride in a Swing

Technically, this was Emma's second ride in a park swing. The first was on Wednesday, but I didn't have my camera so when we went to the park again on Friday I got these pictures.

 It's even more fun when big sister pushes the swing.

 Ella decided that Emma needed her paci at this point. :-)

Carmel in January

 We made a trip to Monastery Beach today in Carmel. It was a perfect day there, not too hot and not too cool. I can hardly believe it's only January! Ella didn't like this beach for awhile (she said it was scary), but it's been awhile since we tried it so we gave it a chance today and Ella was just fine with it. I love this beach! It has spectacular waves, seals that frequently pop their heads up from the water, and pebbles that dry and brush off really easy.

 One of the nice things about the age that Emma's at is that I can put sunglasses on her and she doesn't take them off.

Emma is obsessed with her feet right now. Actually, so am I. :-) I just love those little baby toes! So cute!

Sitting With Sister's Help

 Ella sometimes wants to pick Emma up, but Emma is too heavy for Ella to lift at all (not that it would be a good idea anyway). So, I help Ella sit down with Emma. She loves to support her little sister as she learns to sit.

 As you can see, Emma loves this routine as well.

Emma's First Bath in the Baby Tub

 Today was Emma's first bath in the baby bath tub. She's getting too big for me to handle in the shower with confidence now and she's almost sitting by herself, so I knew it was time. She didn't mind the tub at all and immediately started kicking in the water and playing with the bath toys.

 Emma's sitting up pretty well now. I place the boppy behind her in case she rolls back, but she now sits up for a good 5 minutes or so without losing balance.
