Ella had her first ice skating lesson this Tuesday. She did great! She has such great balance, she didn't even fall once.
Ella's instructor has been teaching ice skating for 12 years and also homeschools her children.
Picking up toys from the ice
Placing the toys on drawings on the ice
She moved very slowly, but was able to move toward her destinations without falling! I have to admit, after breaking my ankle ice skating for the first time when I was 14, I was holding my breath watching Ella. Fortunately, she's a lot more coordinated than her mother. :-)
We started celebrating Ella's 5th birthday on Sunday while Daddy was home from work.
She wanted a Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus birthday theme, so I decorated with pink, lavender, and blue. Princess Annika is an ice skater in the movie, so I used clear stars on the table for an ice look and found ceramic skates for her cake.
Can you tell she was happy about opening the Cinderella castle? :-)
Emy was thrilled with the new Little People Disney Princesses!
A gift from Auntie Joy, Uncle Nate, Grant & Kate
She loves it! Thank you, Auntie Joy, Uncle Nate, Grant & Kate!
From Gramma & Papa - Cyanne La Dee Da doll! Ella loves the La Dee Da sweet shop dolls! This one completed her set of four.
Candyland from Gramma & Papa!
Checking the game board
The first thing Emy wanted to do was to feed her babies. Yep, she's our "feeder". :-)
LeapPad2!!! Ella's been having so much fun with this the past couple of days!
Ella really wanted a Pinata this year. In the end, Daddy helped her soften him up. :-)
Both girls love this Littlest Pet Shop rollercoaster from Gramma & Papa!
Prince Aiden, Princess Annika, and Shimmer the Polar Bear from the Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus movie
Ice Skate Cake :-)
Emy loves singing happy birthday and blowing out candles!
Playing Candyland after cake. Of course, she beat me. :-)
6/12/14: The girls and I were watching Finding Nemo last night. It was Emy's first time seeing the movie. You know how the mama fish and all the babies, but Nemo get eaten... well, Ella asks me what type of fish ate them. I reply quietly that it was a barracuda, but don't point out to Emy that they're D-E-A-D. We then both start nervously watching Emy's reaction to the scene. Then Emy bursts into a little song... "Barracuda, ya, ya, ya...". LOL! So, apparently the scene didn't emotionally scar her. :-)
6/6/14: Great! So Emy likes the taste of coffee with cream! That's just what I need from the one that asks me yesterday if frogs pee on the toilet as she's jumping around pretending to be a frog. Should have seen where that question was headed two seconds before answering "no - BUT they live outside". Too late!
