A Fun Afternoon at the CDM

I took the girls to the Children's Discovery Museum yesterday. We haven't been there since February, but now that Emma is mobile it's a great place for both girls.

We went inside the "crawler room" in the Wonder Cabinet for the first time. Older siblings aren't really suppose to be in there, but Ella's very gentle and there was only one other baby in there, so we got away with it. :-) Ella understood right away that this was a special place for Emma and helped her explore it.

They both loved the little mirror space!

They have small windows at floor level and Emma really enjoyed looking out of them.

They also have small stairs and a wavy inclined floor for babies to crawl up. Emma held my hand and walked down the stairs one step at a time. She was so thrilled at being able to do this that she was squealing with delight.

Another of Emma's favorite things in the Wonder Cabinet was the shadow carousel. The space that it's in is dark and the horses are reflected in different colors on the walls around you. This has always been one of Ella's favorite things in the museum too.

They have a new nature exhibit downstairs. Here the girls are exploring an eagle's nest.

 A log full of racoons!

This frog pond plays frog sounds. They have all sorts of little ponds like this around with fish, frogs, ducks, and other animals.
