This was a wonderful field trip that we took in mid-April! NC State's Agriculture and Life Science dept. sets up "farm days" in the spring. All schools are welcome to sign up and come for free including homeschools. The girls absolutely loved this trip. Ella had been asking to see chicks for a few months and Emy really wanted to pet a sheep, so this was the perfect opportunity.

The highlight of the day, chicks! They had both turkey and chicken chicks. This one is a turkey chick. You can tell by the little bump above his beak.
Ella and the chicks were enthralled with each other.
This baby horse was just hanging out laying near his mom. :-)
This poor cow! He was labeled with the different cuts of meat. He let out a couple of insulted "moos" while the students explained the different qualities of the meat. LOL!
